Bitterness

What is hardest thing to overcome over than pride , lust , and jealousy?

My answer is BITTERNESS!

We can always convince ourselves that we forgive those that hurt us. At the same time we patiently wait for our enemies to fall.

It is in our nature to want an eye for and eye payback toward our enemies. We think they deserve an even amount of pain we went through.

Do not gloat when your enemy falls; when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice, or the LORD will see and disapprove and turn his wrath away from them. – Proverbs 24 :17-18

We become angry when our enemies our blessed.

We ask God “why them and not me?”

We try to block those thoughts from our mind , but they eat at us. This is when you truly know you have not forgiven someone.

When you forgive someone you are able to pray blessings over their life.

You let go of that anger and rejoice when they are blessed.

In the end this will heal you spiritually.

  1. Right on target. Bitterness is a tough one; one that we can cover up or hide. But, God tells us to give it to Him, let Him take care of it. It is up to us to confess it and be obedient.
