People pleasers. Our downfall is letting others people’s opinion affect us.

We allow people to define us.

We allow people to say who we are.

We would do anything to make others happy even if it hinders us.

We want everyone to like us and be pleased with whatever we are doing.

We become perfectionist for other people.

God wants us to love people ,but He does not want our relationships to hinder us.

It has always bothered me when someone does not like me and I do not know why.

Other people’s opinion of me turned into how I see myself.

While praying the other day a thought popped into my mind…

“Why am I trying to please people that don’t even like me more than I am trying to please my Heavenly Father ?”

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29 : 11

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
    before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5

God knows us. He formed us. He knows all of our flaws. NO ONE ELSE knows all of our flaws and still loves us like God does!

Even in our flaws and with all our mistakes God still chose us. He still wants to use us despite what others say or think about us.

for you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession. – Deuteronomy 14:2

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. – John 15:16

Don’t let other’s define you. You are God’s master piece no matter what mistakes you have made.

I Am Who You Say I am

  1. Oh, this is hard and deep! You are so right. It’s a difficult thing to be unaffected by others’ opinions of us. Hard to keep our spiritual eyes clear and focused. Easy to be swayed by what others like or don’t like. Hard to stand strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
Thank God for His everlasting love!
