ELOHIM

One of my focuses and goals right now is to truly study the word of God.

I want to learn new adjectives to describe God. The more I get to know who God seems to make it easier for me to pray to Him.

Today I learned the Hebrew word Elohim.

Elohim means God , Might Creator , or Strong one.

Just learning this one word helped me remember how powerful God is.

He is the MIGHTY CREATOR!

He made the Earth!

He made the Moon and the Stars!

He made the Seas!

He made you and me!

So why do we limit God on what He can do in our life?

Why do we try to use our own strength instead of God’s ?

We have to remind ourselves to depend on God. We have to call out to ELOHIM!

We are weak , but He is strong. When we learn to give God our problems and let go of them is when God will take full control of the situation.

So do not fear, for I am with you;

    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. ( 2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

A great book to read to learn the Different names of God is Praying the Names of God by Ann Spangler.

  1. Amen!! We really do put way too many limits on how we think God will move in our life. We need to put more trust in Him and walk through the unseen.

  2. Therefore my people shall know my name: therefore they shall know in that day that I am he that doth speak: behold, it is I. Isaiah 52:6
