“Poor people know their need ,but not their resources. Rich people know their resources ,but not their need.”
– T.D. Jakes
As children we never dream of working two jobs , and living pay check to pay check. We dream of growing up and becoming “successful.”
I remember at the age of 12 writing short stories or bible lessons. I wanted to be a writer. Thoughts always came out better on paper for me.
When turning 18 I decided to put aside writing , because I never thought it would be possible for me to make money from writing. I started working 16 hours every day to pay my way through college to be a nurse. In the back of my mind I knew I would never be happy as a nurse. I was settling for something that was not for me. The only thing on my mind was getting a job that paid over minimum wage.
That is the mindset for majority of people.
Why is that?
I personally blame luck. We were taught “you are lucky if you make it into college” or “you are lucky if you get a good paying job.”
These statements cause us to settle for less.
We were never taught to be aware of what is around us. We were never taught to think outside the box. We were just taught to overlook the resources around us.
When having Financial problems we pray that God would bless us. We do not realize that God has already. He has given you gifts and talents to put to use. God wants us to be like Him. He wants us to be creators.
Pray that He will reveal a plan that will help you get through it , instead of praying for God to get you out of situations.
The Bible is full of stories where God took nothing and made it into something. David and his slingshot. The boy with the fish and bread. Samson and the jawbone of a donkey.
God can take a small , worthless item of yours ,and show you how to make it into something amazing.
