The last six years I have been a caretaker for my aunt. She is completely disabled. She depends on others to do everything for her.
During these years of caring for her I have learned that this world is not so caring. When taking her out people will stare at her. It is hard opening a door while she is in her wheelchair and pushing into a building. People will watch me struggle,but do not offer to hold the door open.
People in this world look at people with disabilities as a burden. They don’t see them as a blessing .
He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. – Isaiah 40:29
God is our refuge and our strength ,an ever-present help in trouble. – Psalms 46:1
In these verses it speaks about God being our strength, our refuge , and our power. We can take refuge in Him in our time of trouble. We can find strength in Him when we are weary . We can have power through Him when we are weak.
But…
As Christian shouldn’t we be Christlike?
Shouldn’t people be able to come to us in a time of need ?
We should be nurturers , encouragers , providers, peacemakers , and a helping hand. Turning our backs away from people in need is not of God. We should seek those in need. Christians are the solution to people’s problems , because we have the answer to every problem. Jesus. No one should be considered as a burden , because everyone is a child of God.
