Removing The Stitches

A few years go I had an incident that caused me to get stitches…

Being locked out of my house I thought it was a brilliant idea to go through a bedroom window. An even more brilliant idea to me was to  push up on the glass of the window. My right hand and arm eventually went through the glass. As I pulled my arm out of the window I noticed I was bleeding. Glass had went in my wrist. I had a very deep cut and was continuously bleeding which caused me to get stitches. I had to get 10 stitches in my wrist. When getting 10 stitches the doctor told me that I barely missed a main artery.

The worse part out of all this was not getting injured or getting stitches. The worse part was actually getting my stitches removed. I think it was one of the most painful moments in my life. I had skin that grew over some of my stitches , so they had rip some of my skin off of the stitches in order to get it out.

Being injured I needed stitches. Just like I needed stitches we need people in our lives when we are vulnerable. The problem is when we are in our most vulnerable moments we trust the wrong people sometimes. We allow people to come in and manipulate us. People come into our lives at times and pull us farther away from God. Just like my skin took over some of my stitches some people want to take control over your life.

Our relationship with God becomes a small prayer here and there . We might start going to our church less. We are not as excited as we once were about doing God’s work.

When we feel alone we want anyone to be there. We want a shoulder to cry on.

But…

Maybe it’s better to be alone than to have the wrong people in your life?

Just like removing the stitches from my wrist was painful ; removing people from your life can be painful. You can’t leave them in your life forever you have to cut them out. Praying for people sometimes is the only thing you can do for them. Learn how to love from a distance…

  1. The problem is when we are in our most vulnerable moments we trust the wrong people sometimes. We allow people to come in and manipulate us.” This is so true. It has happened to me a gazillion times. Why can’t I ever see it?! Why can’t I ever learn? Hopefully now I will. Hugs xo

  2. I often believe that the sea dilutes my own mud, and the around. The sea is the Spirit of the Lord. That is my faith in Him.
